Charlie Peacock

“A mainstay of the Nashville music scene Charlie Peacock is one of the most prolific cultural influencers to come out of Nashville.” - Brite Revolution

Charlie Peacock, Grammy Award-winning producer and curator of the Overdub Hub, has achieved an adventurous, success-laden production and songwriting resume. Recent highlights include: Peacock’s production of the eponymously titled The Civil Wars (2013) debuted at #1 on the Billboard Pop Chart, sold over 300,000 copies and won the Grammy for Country Duo Performance. He produced three of Entertainment Weekly’s Ten Best Country Albums of 2013, The Civil Wars, The Lone Bellow and Holly Williams. Peacock co-composed and produced the title theme for the AMC Television drama TURN, and produced “Misery Chain” for Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell featuring Joy Williams, from the soundtrack to the Oscar-winning film, 12 Years A Slave.

Alongside his own unique recording history in pop, gospel and jazz, Peacock played a lead role in creating major hits over the last 20+ years – most notably co-writing Amy Grant’s “Every Heartbeat” (1991) and playing keyboards on it, co-producing Switchfoot’s “Dare You to Move” (2002) and producing The Civil Wars’ Gold-certified debut album Barton Hollow (2011) – earning Grammys for Best Folk Album and Country Duo. Named by Billboard’s Encyclopedia of Record Producers as one of the 500 most important record producers in music history, the consistently successful record producer is just as notable for his keyboard contributions to hundreds upon hundreds of recordings in multiple genres. Having served as an A&R consultant for EMI and Sony/ATV, Peacock continues his talent development achievements (Switchfoot, The Civil Wars, The Lone Bellow) as Sr. A&R consultant to Downtown Music Publishing. Upcoming 2015 releases include Joy Williams (Columbia), Angelica Garcia (Warner Bros.) and the virtuoso instrumental trio, ChessBoxer featuring Matt Menefee on banjo and Ross Holmes on fiddle, last seen and heard with Mumford and Sons.

Charlie Peacock on Charlie

I’m honored to curate this exclusive Nashville-centric session musician collective. What a great community of players! Of course I’m in the driver’s seat as producer, but I play a lot of keyboards too. I usually create a foundational part with pianos, organs, or pads. Then the second phase (for my production style) is about creating something unique with my vintage keyboards and soft-synths, or by treating/manipulating existing parts (guitars, drums, vocals, keyboards etc.) via software and editing. I’m available on a select basis to do this for you too – just ask. I hope you get a chance to record with one or all of the Overdub Hub A-Team, either remotely, or via tracking and overdubs here in Nashville.
