Greg Morrow

Nashville elite drummer Greg Morrow has played with everyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Blake Shelton. As a first-call session musician, Greg has rocked steady for more than thirty-five years on 700-plus albums. He has a contagious smile, a warmhearted temperament, musicality for days, and vintage and contemporary kits, kicks, and snares for every situation.

These days, Greg contributes to an average of 25 albums a year, recording with artists like American Idol Season 11 winner Scotty McCreery, Sheryl Crow, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, and many more. Consistent and authentic, Greg won a 2008 ACM award for Top Percussionist of the Year and took home the 2014 Modern Drummer’s Reader’s Choice award for best studio drummer. In other words, he’s bringing it year after year and never letting up.

I am consistently impressed with Greg on several fronts, but two in particular. One, he’s a rock time-wise, but a soulful rock. Two, he draws zero attention to his personality except to have a great, wise, and cooperative one. When the drummer plays as well as Greg and has such a great disposition it puts everyone at ease groove-wise and personally. He’s a pro of pros and is timeless in his sound and approach.
